The conditionals are of great relevance in English.
There are four types of conditionals and it is essential to understand all four types.
In this lesson we will not focus on the myxed conditionals.
The zero conditional is about true information or scientific facts.
The first conditional is about possible situations in the present or in the future.
The pattern of the first conditional is:
IF + SIMPLE PRESENT + SIMPLE FUTURE
The second conditional is about unreal or impossible situations
Pattern: IF + SIMPLE PAST + MODALS (COULD, WOULD)
The third conditional is about events in the past that did not happen.
To study more about the if clauses you can watch an YouTube video. People who share with me the appreciation to sitcoms will probably like it a lot.
Click here to access the video.
As for practice I will share with those who contact me a file with exercises. Furthermore I will share a power point presentations with videos and games to practice what we have talked about today.
If you have any questions, please contact me (zero conditional)
I will be happy to assess yoour needs if you do (first)
I would be very disappointed if you didn’t (second)
You could have learnt even more if you had started already (third)
